Biography
Simone Cantarini, an Italian Baroque artist, was born in 1612 and died in 1648. He was known for his drawings and etchings, which depicted biblical scenes and classical mythology. The artist's work is characterized by its expressive lines, dramatic composition and a strong sense of emotion. Cantarini's artistic style was influenced by the works of Guido Reni and the Carracci brothers, and his drawings were often executed in red chalk, a medium that allowed him to achieve subtle gradations of tone and light.
