Biography
Samuel John Stump (1778-1863) was a British artist known for his landscape and figurative drawings. His works often depict pastoral scenes with figures in natural settings, as seen in "Landscape with Shepherds" (c. 1800). He also created dramatic scenes like "The Hunt", which captures the excitement of a boar hunt. Stump's drawings are characterized by their delicate lines and subtle use of shading, creating a sense of depth and realism.
