Samuel Johannes van den Bergh (1814-1868) was a Dutch poet and playwright born and died in Den Haag. He is known for his patriotic poems that celebrated Dutch history and culture, often highlighting themes of heroism and national pride. His work is characterized by its use of traditional Dutch verse forms and its evocative imagery. Van den Bergh's most famous work is perhaps "Aan den Heer J.
