Biography
Raffaello Schiaminossi (1572-1622) was an Italian engraver, known for his detailed engravings of religious subjects and figures. His work often features intricate details, such as the drapery and the facial expressions of his subjects. His engravings are characterized by their clarity and precision, and are considered to be some of the finest examples of Italian engraving of the 17th century. Schiaminossi's engravings were popular among collectors, and they continue to be admired for their beauty and craftsmanship. He is best known for his prints featuring the Mysteries of the Rosary, a series of 20 engravings depicting scenes from the life of the Virgin Mary.
