Biography
Pieter Rodermondt (1600-1654) was a Dutch Golden Age printmaker and draughtsman, primarily known for his etchings. He was a prolific artist, producing numerous works throughout his career. His etchings, such as the one depicted here, were often characterized by their detailed and expressive lines, as well as their nuanced use of light and shadow. He created prints that showcased the Dutch Baroque style, often depicting historical or biblical scenes. His work is highly sought after by collectors and is considered an important part of Dutch art history.
