Biography
Philippe de Lasalle (1723-1804) was a French textile designer who is best known for his intricate and elegant floral patterns. His designs, often featuring delicate flowers, birds, and scrolling vines, were woven into luxurious silks and velvets. These fabrics, often in rich colors like crimson and gold, were highly sought after by the French aristocracy and were used to adorn everything from clothing and upholstery to wall hangings and curtains. De Lasalle's work exemplified the Rococo style, a period characterized by its ornate and playful aesthetic, and helped shape the visual language of 18th-century French design.
