Biography

Paul Tassaert was a 19th-century French printmaker known for his portrait engravings. His works often feature prominent figures from the Napoleonic era, such as André-Joseph Abrial, Bernard-Érasme de Deroi, and J.J. Lefrançais de Lalande. Tassaert’s engravings are characterized by their meticulous detail and subtle use of shading, which creates a sense of realism and depth. He died in Paris in 1855.
