Biography
Parmigianino, born in Parma, Italy in 1503, was an Italian painter and draughtsman of the High Renaissance and Mannerist periods. His works are characterized by elongated figures, graceful lines, and a sense of idealized beauty, as seen in his famous painting *The Madonna with the Long Neck*, depicting the Virgin Mary with an elongated neck and an idealized, youthful appearance. The artist was influenced by the works of Raphael and Correggio, and his style is considered to be a bridge between the High Renaissance and Mannerism. He died in Casalmaggiore, Italy in 1540.
