Biography
Paracas was a pre-Columbian civilization that flourished in the southern coastal region of Peru between 700 and 200 BC. Known for their intricate textiles, ceramics and elaborate burial practices, the Paracas culture is noted for their exceptional craftsmanship and distinctive artistic style. Their textiles, woven with intricate designs and vibrant colors, are considered some of the finest examples of ancient Andean art, frequently depicting mythical beings and complex geometric patterns. The Paracas ceramics are equally impressive, featuring anthropomorphic figures, stylized animals, and elaborate geometric designs.
