Pacifico Levi

Pacifico Levi (1818-?) was a silver smith known for his ornate silverwork. This circular platter is a prime example of his style, featuring intricate repoussé work, a technique where metal is hammered from behind to create raised designs. The outer rim is decorated with scrolling floral motifs and a continuous band of stylized vegetal forms. In the center, a complex design of interlaced circles and stylized flowers is arranged in a radial pattern. Levi's work reflects the highly skilled craftsmanship of the period and the continued popularity of classical motifs in decorative arts.
