Biography
Otto Parisien (1725-1811) was a silversmith, and perhaps goldsmith, who crafted this silver buckle, an example of fine craftsmanship from the late 18th century. The piece features an intricate design of rosettes and a central, arched form typical of buckles from the period. It is unknown where or when it was made, but it provides insight into Parisien's meticulous work as a silversmith and the enduring appeal of intricate ornamentation.
