Biography
Gaspard-Félix Tournachon, better known as Nadar, was a French photographer and journalist who lived from 1820 to 1910. Known for his portraits of famous people, Nadar captured the essence of Parisian society in the 19th century. His work often employed a soft focus and natural lighting, emphasizing the subject’s individuality and personality. Nadar also took aerial photographs from hot air balloons, pioneering this new perspective in photography. His work is considered a significant contribution to the development of portraiture and photojournalism.
