Biography
Moses de Vries (1807-1883) was a Dutch medalist born in Amsterdam, where he lived his entire life. His work is characterized by its detailed depiction of architectural structures and historical figures. Notable examples of his work include the medal for the "Park of Amsterdam" and the medal for "The first 26 years for the School of Groningen." De Vries was a master of the art of medal making and his works are highly valued by collectors today.
