Biography
Mathieu Lauweriks was a Dutch architect and designer who was born in Roermond in 1864 and died in Amsterdam in 1932. Known for his geometric and stylized designs, Lauweriks' work often incorporated elements of nature, as seen in the delicate floral motifs and the stylized deer. Lauweriks’ style drew inspiration from Art Nouveau, and he is widely known for his work in jewelry, furniture and metalwork. His geometric designs with organic elements showcased the artistic movement of the early 20th century.
