Biography
Mary Spingler Fonderden Van Beuren was an American quilter who lived from 1810 to 1894. Van Beuren's work is known for its intricate patterns and use of a variety of colors and fabrics. She is best known for her "Flying Geese" quilt, which features rows of triangles arranged in a diagonal pattern. Her quilts are a testament to her skill and dedication to the craft of quilting and are considered to be examples of traditional American folk art.
