Louise Magdeleine Horthemels was a French engraver, active from 1686 to 1767. She is known for her intricate engravings of portraits, religious figures, and allegorical scenes. Horthemels' work is characterized by its fine detail and precision, which contributed to a successful career, with her prints being commissioned by the French Royal Court. She created a wide range of work, including engravings for almanacs, such as the "Almanach de Cabinet", portraits of prominent figures such as the "Abel, Louis de S. Marthe", and scenes from French literature such as "Don Quichotte est lavé par les Dames de la Duchesse, qui feignant que l’eau manque, luy laisse le savon sur le visage." Her engravings remain popular amongst collectors today.
