Louis d'Arcis (1801) was a French artist known for his satirical prints and engravings. His works often depicted scenes from daily life and social commentary, frequently touching upon themes of fashion, class, and the aristocracy. The artwork "La Sentinelle," a hand-colored etching, depicts a scene from a fashionable milliner's shop, where a young woman is trying on a hat with the assistance of a saleswoman, while another lady watches from the background.
