Biography

Leonetto Cappiello (1875-1942) was an Italian Art Nouveau poster artist known for his bold and colorful designs. He was renowned for his innovative use of color and his ability to capture the spirit of his time. His work often featured exaggerated figures, simplified forms, and strong graphic elements, like in his advertisement for the "Petit Marseillais" newspaper. His poster for the "Paris 1937" International Exhibition showcases his use of vibrant colors, contrasting lines, and Art Deco style. His work was largely focused on advertising and helped shape the visual language of commercial art.
