Biography
Josua van den Enden (1584-1646) was a Dutch engraver and cartographer known for his detailed maps and illustrations. His work, primarily in the style of Renaissance engraving, often depicts scenes from mythology and classical literature, as seen in his print of "Jupiter Olympikus," but his most significant contributions are to cartography. His maps of the Netherlands and the German Ocean are notable for their intricate detail and use of symbolic imagery. These maps are not only visually striking but are also valuable historical documents for understanding the geography and political landscape of the 17th century.
