Josef Kriehuber was an Austrian portrait artist, draughtsman and lithographer. Born in Vienna in 1800, he is considered a prominent artist of the Biedermeier era. Kriehuber was known for his detailed and realistic portraits of individuals, especially notable figures of his time. He was particularly famous for his lithographic portraits of prominent personalities, including the Habsburg emperors. He died in Vienna in 1876, leaving behind a legacy of meticulous and expressive portraits.
