Johannes Jan Schoonhoven (1914-1994) was a Dutch artist best known for his minimalist, geometric sculptures and reliefs. Schoonhoven's work often features simple, repetitive patterns carved into white surfaces. These patterns can be seen as an exploration of the fundamental elements of visual art—form, line, and space—through the medium of white relief.
