Biography
Johann Christoph Müller was a medallist, creating works like the silver medal depicted here. This piece commemorates the "Interregnum" in the Holy Roman Empire, a period between 1740 and 1742 when there was no elected Emperor. The obverse of the medal shows a depiction of Noah's Ark, symbolic of the turbulent times and the need for a new leader.
