Biography
Jean Bourdichon (1457-1521) was a French painter and illuminator known for his exquisite miniature paintings. His works are characterized by fine detail, delicate lines, and vibrant colors. He was a master of the style known as "French Primitivism", and his work often featured religious themes. He produced many miniatures for books such as the "Grandes Heures d'Anne de Bretagne", a famous illuminated manuscript for the French Queen Anne of Brittany. His work was prized for its elegance and beauty and is now considered one of the most important examples of French manuscript illumination.
