James Sowerby

James Sowerby was an English botanist and illustrator, born in 1757 and died in 1822. He is best known for his exquisite botanical illustrations, often featuring detailed depictions of plants, flowers, and fungi. Sowerby's work was highly influential in the field of botany and natural history, popularising the study of the natural world. He was also a prolific author, writing and illustrating numerous books on natural history subjects, including "English Botany" and "Exotic Botany".
