Jacques Marie Adrien van Hellenberg Hubar (1826-1892) was a Dutch painter and printmaker known for his landscapes. Born in Den Haag, he often depicted the natural beauty of his homeland. His etchings, like the one shown here, reveal his talent for capturing light and shadow in the landscape. This particular work shows a cluster of trees beside a path, with hills in the distance, suggesting the peaceful and serene nature of his preferred subjects.
