Biography
Jacob Willemz. de Vos (1774-1844) was a Dutch artist known for his detailed anatomical drawings of the human figure. Born in Amsterdam, he was active as a draughtsman and painter in Haarlem. De Vos's works were often executed in sanguine, a reddish-brown drawing chalk, resulting in lifelike and expressive representations of the human body. His studies of anatomy and gesture, including the nude, are valued for their precision and artistic merit.
