Ivan Generalic

Ivan Generalic (1914-1992) was a Croatian painter known for his naive art, also called primitive art. Born in Hlebine near Koprivnica, Croatia, Generalic’s works often depicted scenes of rural life, like farm work, religious rituals, and village life. His style is characterized by bold colors, simple forms, and a childlike innocence, often depicting figures with large heads and hands. His paintings, often referred to as "Hlebine School" art, hold a unique charm, celebrating the simplicity and beauty of everyday life.
