Biography
Ishikawa Utamaro was a Japanese artist known for his beautiful ukiyo-e woodblock prints. Utamaro’s work often depicts the lives of ordinary people, especially women. He is famous for his portraits of beautiful women, known as “bijin-ga”, as well as for his depictions of everyday life, such as scenes of geisha and courtesans. Utamaro is considered one of the masters of the ukiyo-e genre, and his work continues to be admired for its delicate beauty and skill.
