Biography
Ippitsusai Bunchō (1765-1792) was a Japanese ukiyo-e artist known for his beautiful depictions of women in landscapes. His woodblock prints often featured elegant figures in traditional dress, frequently set against backgrounds of snow or water. The use of strong lines and bold colors created a dynamic and evocative style that was popular in his time. Bunchō's works are highly sought after by collectors today, and his influence can be seen in the work of later ukiyo-e artists.
