Biography
Herman Cherry (1909-1992) was an American printmaker known for his expressive and often abstract style. He was particularly skilled in the techniques of etching, drypoint, and aquatint, which he used to create powerful images that often explore themes of nature, industry, and spirituality. His works, such as "Deep Sea II" and "Texas Oil Field," demonstrate his mastery of line and tone to create atmospheric and evocative landscapes. Cherry's work can be found in many public and private collections, including the Museum of Modern Art in New York City and the National Gallery of Art in Washington, D.C.
