Biography
Henri-Edmond Cross (1856-1910) was a French artist known for his pointillist style, a technique he developed alongside his fellow Neo-Impressionist George Seurat. Cross's paintings, often depicting landscapes and everyday scenes, are characterized by small, distinct dots of color, carefully applied to create an overall effect of light and vibrancy. His paintings are notable for their use of complementary colors and his exploration of the scientific principles of color theory, which he believed could be used to evoke emotional responses in the viewer.
