Giuseppe Maria Crespi (14 March 1665 – 16 July 1747) was an Italian painter from Bologna, Italy. He was known for his genre scenes and portraits that realistically depicted everyday life. Crespi's paintings are often characterized by their rich colors, expressive figures, and attention to detail. He produced works of both religious and secular subjects. His paintings often convey a sense of intimacy and immediacy. He is considered one of the most important exponents of the Bolognese school.
