Biography
Giovanni Bellini (c. 1430-1516) was an Italian painter born and based in Venice. He was a pivotal figure in the development of Venetian Renaissance painting, renowned for his mastery of oil painting and his exploration of atmospheric perspective, especially evident in his landscapes. He is also known for his numerous portraits, such as the "Portrait of a Doge" and the "Portrait of a Man," which are characterized by their meticulous detail and psychological insight. Bellini’s work influenced many artists, including Titian, Giorgione, and his brother, Gentile Bellini.
