Geesje Mesdag-van Calcar

Geesje Mesdag-van Calcar (1850-1936) was a Dutch painter known for her watercolors, especially those depicting scenes of her hometown of Scheveningen. Born in Hoogezand, she was a prolific artist who captured the essence of daily life in coastal Netherlands, and her works are often noted for their delicate brushstrokes and intimate portrayal of fishermen and local landscapes.
