Geesje Mesdag-van Calcar (1850-1936) was a Dutch painter known for her watercolors, especially those depicting scenes of her hometown of Scheveningen. Born in Hoogezand, she was a prolific artist who captured the essence of daily life in coastal Netherlands, and her works are often noted for their delicate brushstrokes and intimate portrayal of fishermen and local landscapes. Mesdag-van Calcar's artistic journey was deeply intertwined with her family, as she was married to the renowned Dutch painter Hendrik Willem Mesdag.
