Biography
F.W. Cochrane (1914-1974) was a British printmaker whose work is characterized by bold colors and geometric forms. He was known for his use of linocut, a technique in which he carved designs into a block of linoleum and then applied ink to the surface. Cochrane’s prints often depicted still life scenes or landscapes with a focus on geometric shapes and stylized figures. His work can be found in numerous collections, including the Victoria & Albert Museum and the British Museum.
