Biography
Francesco del Cossa was an Italian painter active in Ferrara during the 15th century. He is best known for his work on the frescoes in the Schifanoia Palace, which depict scenes from the months of the year. These frescoes are characterized by their detailed perspective and use of bright, vibrant colors. They represent a unique style of Italian Renaissance painting that blends elements of both Florentine and Venetian traditions. Cossa's work also includes a number of altarpieces and other religious paintings that demonstrate his mastery of realism and compositional balance.
