Biography
The Firm of Wiss Brothers were a pair of silversmiths active in the late 18th century. While little is known about the brothers, their work is known for intricate details and elegant designs. This piece, a silver pocket watch, features a delicately engraved depiction of a cornucopia overflowing with fruit. The use of floral motifs and the overall design suggest a style popular in the Rococo period. This exquisite example of their craft reflects the artistic and technical mastery of these lesser-known silversmiths.
