Filippo Lippi

Filippo Lippi (c. 1406 – 8 October 1469) was an Italian Early Renaissance painter. Born in Florence, Lippi's style, known for its expressive figures and detailed landscapes, was a departure from the more rigid, formal style of his contemporaries. His most famous work is the fresco cycle in the Cathedral of Prato depicting the life of the Virgin Mary. This work features vivid details, dynamic compositions, and a sense of realism that contributed to the transition towards the High Renaissance.
