Biography
Ernest Eléonor Pierre Lamy (1828-1900) was a French photographer known for his stereoscopic views, which he created extensively around the French Alps and the region of Savoy. Lamy's work, like the images of the "Mer de Glace" and "Entrée de la Gorge du Trient," captured the grandeur of the natural world in stunning detail, bringing the mountains and valleys of the French Alps to life for viewers around the globe. Lamy also photographed architectural interiors, often creating striking perspectives of grand spaces, as seen in his view of the "Grand Couloir de Louis XIV."
