Biography
Epitimos was an Athenian potter known for his black-figure kylixes, which are shallow, stemmed drinking cups with two handles. Epitimos' work is characterized by the use of thin, precise black glaze lines and distinctive depictions of figures and scenes. His pottery is notable for its use of animal motifs, often in the form of birds, animals, or monsters. The Epitimos Painter is a notable example of the influence of black-figure painting in Athenian ceramics.
