Édouard Vuillard (1868-1940) was a French painter and printmaker, best known for his intimate depictions of domestic life. He was a member of the Nabis, a group of artists who favored expressive color and flat, decorative patterns, often influenced by Japanese prints. Vuillard's works often feature muted colors and focus on interiors, capturing the quiet moments of everyday life. His paintings, such as "Interior" and "The Life of the Deaf", showcase his masterful use of color and composition. He was also a prolific printmaker and created many woodcuts and lithographs.
