Christoph Veit Schellhorn

Christoph Veit Schellhorn was a German artist born in Neurenberg in 1800. He worked primarily in the medium of printmaking. His prints often depicted portraits of notable figures, including those of German intellectuals and clergymen. The portraits are characterized by a realistic style, with detailed rendering of facial features and clothing. They are typically executed in black and white, using a combination of engraving and etching techniques, and often feature inscriptions below the portrait identifying the subject and providing biographical information. Schellhorn died in his hometown of Neurenberg in 1850.
