Biography
Christian Schule (1764-1816) was a German engraver who was born in Copenhagen and died in Leipzig. Schule is best known for his portrait engravings, often depicting historical figures, in the neoclassical style. His work is characterized by its delicate lines, attention to detail, and realistic portrayal of subjects. Examples of his work include engravings of Graf Tauentzien, Selim III, and Johann Karl Musäus, all of whom are featured in oval frames typical of the time.
