Biography
Cennino Cennini was an Italian painter and art theorist from Colle di Val d'Elsa, Tuscany, who lived from around 1360 to 1427. Cennini is known for his treatise *Il Libro dell'Arte*, which provides a detailed account of the techniques used by artists of his time, including fresco painting, tempera, and gilding. His work, *The Birth of the Virgin*, depicts scenes from the life of the Virgin Mary. Cennini's art, like many of his contemporaries, was influenced by the Sienese school and is characterized by its detailed and precise representations of figures, often with a focus on religious themes.
