Brepols & Dierckx zoon were a publishing house that specialized in producing children's illustrated books, often featuring stories and fairy tales. The imagery in their works often used bright, bold colors and simple lines, making them visually appealing to young audiences. Their work often included educational content, as seen in the examples of "L'Huilierkerland," which is a comedic and satirical illustration, and "Histoire de Gulliver", which depicts the story of the famous book. "Ustensilles de ménage" is another interesting example, featuring illustrations of various household objects with their corresponding labels in both French and Dutch.
