Boris Kustodiev (May 7, 1878 – May 28, 1927) was a Russian painter and graphic artist, best known for his paintings and illustrations of everyday life in Russia. Born in Astrakhan, he studied art at the Imperial Academy of Arts in Saint Petersburg, where he developed a distinctive style characterized by bold colours, exaggerated forms, and an emphasis on the details of traditional Russian life.
