Biography
Blas de Prado (1545-1599) was a Spanish artist known for his drawings, particularly those depicting religious scenes. His work is often characterized by a sense of drama and emotion, as seen in this drawing of a bearded man reclining with a lion by his side. This could depict the biblical story of the prophet Daniel, whose faith is said to have protected him from lions in a den. His draftsmanship is masterful, rendering the figures with striking detail and expressiveness.
