Biography
Wolf Huber was a German Renaissance artist active in the early 16th century. He is best known for his drawings, which often featured fantastical landscapes and figures with exaggerated features. Huber's use of white chalk on toned paper, as seen in this study of drapery, created a dynamic and expressive style. His work is often characterized by its dramatic use of light and shadow and its exploration of the human form. He was a prolific draftsman whose drawings were later used by him in woodcut prints.
