Biography
Andrea di Pietro di Marco Ferrucci, also known as Il Ferrucci, was a Florentine sculptor active in the early 16th century. Ferrucci's work is characterized by a blend of High Renaissance idealism and late-Quattrocento realism, often incorporating elements of Roman portraiture in marble busts. He was known for his skill in depicting emotion and personality in his subjects, exemplified in his numerous busts of prominent individuals. His work, often depicting figures from classical mythology, is a prime example of the artistic revival of antique classical sculpture.
