Biography
Alfred Capel Cure (1826-1896) was a British photographer known for his detailed architectural and landscape photography. His images, like the one of Thornton College, showcase a meticulous approach to capturing the intricacies of his subjects. The sharp detail and composition of Cure’s work is evident in his photographic portraits as well. His photograph of a dog, "Peter," demonstrates his ability to capture both the personality and physical characteristics of his subjects. The inclusion of the inscription on the photograph suggests that he was also a keen observer of human relationships with animals.
